Afghan officials say separate bomb blasts in the country's east have killed a provincial lawmaker and a school principal.
Officials say the provincial council member was killed in an explosion Tuesday in Laghman province.
The principal was killed in neighboring Nangarhar province Tuesday in a bomb blast inside the school.
Taliban militants often use bombs in attacks against government officials and other targets.
