Authorities say separate bomb blasts in eastern Afghanistan have killed a provincial lawmaker and a school principal.
Afghan officials say a roadside bomb killed provincial council member Malim Malang Tuesday in Laghman province. Another person was wounded in the blast.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
In neighboring Nangarhar province, officials say a bomb blast inside a school killed the headmaster and wounded another person near the provincial capital, Jalalabad .
A Taliban spokesman said the militant group was not involved in the killing.
Elsewhere in the east, Afghan officials says a coalition airstrike killed two children in Kunar province late Monday.
A NATO spokesman said troops were targeting suspected insurgents who were placing a bomb on the road.
