Protests in Northern Iraq

Thousands of people rallied in northern Iraq, Saturday, where they criticized Kurdish regional President Masoud Barzani for a deadly shooting on Thursday.
Students led a protest at a university in Sulaimaniya, while a separate group of demonstrators rallied in the city's main square.
On Thursday, two people were killed and at least 30 wounded after security forces opened fire on demonstrators in the city. About 1,000 people had gathered to demand political reforms. Reports say security officials opened fire after some of the protesters began throwing stones at the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
The protesters, on Saturday, demanded President Barzani apologize for the shootings. They also demanded that regional authorities prosecute those responsible for the incident.
