KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- A total of 7,209 Malaysians have been evacuated from several cities in Egypt and sent to Jeddah in an operation codenamed 'Ops Piramid' so far.
Defence Ministry Corporate Communications' Media Unit officer, Major Marina Harun, said as of 10pm Monday, 3,374 people were ferried out on three Royal Malaysian Air Force C-130 aircraft, 2,150 others on three Malaysia Airlines (MAS) aircraft and 1,625 people on AirAsia aircraft.
Ops Piramid is a mission to rescue Malaysians trapped in Egypt and evacuating them to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, following turmoil in the north African country.
