Gunmen have attacked a bank in eastern Afghanistan, killing at least 18 people and wounding more than 70 others.
Local officials say several policemen who came to collect their salaries were among the casualties.
Witnesses and officials say seven men armed with guns and bombs attacked a branch of Kabul Bank in Jalalabad city Saturday.
Taliban Spokesman Zabijullah Mujahid later claimed responsibility for the attack — a claim that could not be independently confirmed.
