Nations Convention on Feb. 19 discussed the problem of Malay


KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16: PAS will hold a National Convention Empowerment Nations Security PAS on February 19 to discuss the problem of the Malays and natives of the country.

According to Vice-President of PAS, Datuk Mahfuz Omar, the convention will answer all the confusion about the status and privileges of Malays and Bumiputra

"The convention will address issues in the community who tried to misled the country and the indigenous Malays by UMNO BN is trying to form attitudes that Pakatan Rakyat marginalize the Malays," he said at a press conference at PAS headquarters, near here today.

It will be held at the Auditorium of Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) from 9 am to 5 pm with a presentation of several papers.

The Convention will be opened by Mursyidul Am PAS, Tuan Guru Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
PAS president Datuk Seri Tuan Guru Abdul Hadi Awang will present a paper "PAS security" at 2.30 pm.

Elaborating, he is confident that the convention is to give confidence to people that PAS will collectively defend with all matters relating to the rights and privileges of the Malays.

"After the 2008 general election the BN Umno attempt to bring the matters alleged Malay racial sentiments are threatened and marginalized.

"So we will give understanding to the public especially the Malays and natives of the country that the PAS with the Pakatan Rakyat will continue to keep all matters relating to Malay and Bumiputera privileges contained in the Constitution," he said, who is also a member of Parliament Pokok Sena.

PAS at the convention will also explain to the public that the situation is due to the failure of backward Malays UMNO BN.

"Over 53 years in the Malay said this marginalized and threatened because there is no political will of governments to defend the cause is raging Bumiputera agenda," he said.

Referring to the establishment of the Unit Leader Bumiputera Agenda (Teraju) by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak recently, he said it was one more proof that the Malays and the Bumiputera agenda before it fails.

But he said the convention was drafted several months ago not as a response to the establishment of Teraju.
In addition to Abdul Hadi, Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng will also be presenting a paper "in the era of the Malay Penang Pakatan Rakyat."
Another article '53 years of independence eroded the position of Malay Bumiputera 'will be presented by former chairman of Bernama, Prof Datuk Abu Bakar Hamid, a former University lecturer.

Participants consisted of non-kingdom (NGOs), representatives of the parties in Pakatan Rakyat leaders teertentu including lecturers and students from non-Malay and Malay.
